All the Cozy Gaming

About the Website

At its core, I created Little Gaming Corner to share reviews, recommendations, and discussions about video games and gaming-related topics that don't always get the attention they deserve. My goal is to help people discover games beyond the mainstream titles, especially those that offer memorable, comforting, or otherwise meaningful experiences.

With cozy games being an increasingly popular subgenre, I focus most of my writing on them, along with indie games that I find interesting and worth discussing. However, I don’t rule out occasionally writing about games outside those categories, including AAA titles that may not be considered cozy-adjacent or even family-friendly.

I enjoy a wide variety of genres, but my appreciation for a game tends to be shaped more by how it made me feel than by technical details or gameplay difficulty.

The reviews I write are meant to help readers decide whether a game might be right for them, so I make a conscious effort to avoid any major spoilers. I share my personal experiences with each game, including what I think to be both its strengths and weaknesses, without revealing anything that could potentially take away from the experience of discovering it for yourself. In the rare cases where spoilers are necessary, clear warnings will always be provided in advance.

Personally, I also like to think of this blog as an archive of my memories with the games I’ve enjoyed over the years.

Hello There

About the Author

Hi, I’m Ashelen and I’m an Argentinian gamer. I grew up in the 90’s, initially playing classic games from the 80’s such as Elevator Action, Circus Charlie, Tank, and Sneak ‘N Peek.

It’s safe to say I’ve played games from all generations, and witnessed the gaming culture change from a casual hobby for some, to a daily activity for many. As a child, I had no idea I’d be gaming as much as I do at this point in my life, but I can’t say I’m surprised now.

In my early teen years and with my PlayStation 1, I got into many game series that I still love to this day. But with the PS2 being my last console for a very long time, it wasn’t until I built my own gaming PC as an adult that I started the still-ongoing journey of catching up on nearly a decade of releases I had missed. By then, the PS4 had already come out.

I’m a huge fan of Resident Evil, my favorite game series. Other favorite games include Bayonetta and Nier: Automata, which I hold very dear to my heart.

That said, the game I actually have the most hours on is Stardew Valley (I refuse to believe it might in fact be Microsoft’s Solitaire Collection). While I had already played games that could be considered cozy, Stardew Valley introduced me to cozy gaming as the subgenre that it is today. A far cry from the survival horror and action games I tend to lean towards.

As a person who often suffers from anxiety, cozy games have become my go-to whenever I want to play something that I can relax with. Wholesome interactive adventures are like warm embraces, and while I really enjoy fighting zombies and hiding from enemies, I can also love safer worlds and softer colors.

Let's Plays

YouTube

I also create gaming content on YouTube, where you can find me as Ashelectra. I share Let’s Play videos of single-player, story-driven games of all genres, but I usually lean towards action and horror games.

For video content, I prefer to play games that have a faster pace of progression, as they give me continuous material to react to and comment on while I’m recording.

Some of the playthroughs I’ve shared include Resident Evil 4 Remake, Telltale’s The Walking Dead, and The Evil Within, among others.
Whenever I write about a game that I've also covered on YouTube, you'll find a link to the corresponding video at the end of the review.

Fourth Time's The Charm

This is the fourth website I've started, but the first one I've finished designing and feel proud enough to share with a wider audience.

Like No One Ever Was

I spent over a decade being absolutely obsessed with the Pokémon anime, starting when I was 10. Ash and Misty forever ♡

Once Upon A Fanfic

I've written lots of fanfiction, mostly for the Dragon Ball and Fullmetal Alchemist fandoms. Among the hundreds I've read, my latest obsession remains Resident Evil.
